I heard a similar story (less complicated) when studying electrical engineering in the university. Why does the current flows from plus to minus, while the elecrons actually travel from minus to plus?
And considering all these specs which comprise the IT network something, after they have been coined or pinched 20 years ago by some smart computer geeks(some obviously by accident), they are fixed forever… I wonder 2000 years from now someone finds out the same kind of thing and makes an equally or better weird story.
