It is really interesting to hear your p.o.v. on this subject. A lot of the coverage of this whole whale/dolphin hunting this is so sensationalistic. I have never heard anyone discuss facts and figures when the topic is brought up in the media. They just show images of these Sea Shepherd guys throwing stuff on Japanese whale ships and acting really childish. Heck, they even made a TV show out of it!

Japanese people feel like their culture is under attack, so naturally, they get defensive. I just wonder if the issue can be approached in a more productive way for those on both sides of the coin.

Thanks Kathleen!

Communication is about delivering our messages in ways that are digestible to the recipients. From this point of view, I don't like what Greenpeace and other activists are doing because they had abandoned more "peace"ful ways intentionally, and also they don't listen: they only talk (and act).

Once a person thinks she is under attack, all subsequent messages are taken with a (big) grain of salt and suspicion...haven't we had enough of that in our private lives? Sometimes I think we are trying to vent our personal frustrations in public arguments...

It's not so much about the killing of the dolphins but rather the method in which the fisherman do so.
