这些是我去台湾以前拍完的。打扫，打扫。

在银座，苹果.com的新商品陈列室开了。

他们有一个极大的教室。苹果尽管很受欢迎，但仍然有极少的市场占有率。这是我想解释的现象，可是我觉得他们不教这种事情。

人很多，可是不那么热闹。客人大体是计算机迷，他们总是平静的。虽然表情常常变，身体很少动。服务员是最热闹的人们。好像博物馆。苹果没有那么多的商品，很多的东西是一样的。

她的办公室的环境有改善的余地。

吉祥寺是一个很漂亮，很稳定，和有很奇怪（有意思）的建筑。

广告不是一定“越多越好“。

Different time zone and customer relationship management

Came back from Taiwan after an intensive customer training (yes, an excuse for my laziness in blogging), and found an entry at Suda Fujiko referring to my old comment. Before updating the silly pictures I took there, let's elaborate it in English more.

Recently our office decided to move every customer related activity and their histories - sales account and support calls - into a single database, provided from a very major company so put a link here, since I am not an advocate of their offerings. After some detailed documents circled around the mailing list (the kind that you jump at it enthusiastically wondering it might solve all the mysteries around that fancy buzzword, 30 minutes later decides "today might not be the perfect timing to digest this sophisticated idea", put it in a folder neatly named "technical information" and it stays there never being accessed until you search for some document to be deleted in order to save hard disk space), the online & telephone training has taken place.

Four locations, each in differenct time zone. New York, California, France, and Tokyo. It sounds cool when written down like this, but by "Tokyo" means it was held in my shabby apartment with me sitting in front of my laptop in the same blogging style as usual. The only thing different was the Chinese soap opera running on the Satellite channel. I could have kept it running silent just for BGV, but shut it down because it was going to steal my every attention. The plot is always like this, with minor twist: Mobsters blackmail a poilce officer for smuggling drug + He has an affair with a young secretary + The secretary is the love child of the mobster head + An international bank group is dealing with both sides. You'll never know what you'll gonna get in the next moment. No, we all know too well what we want.

California - 8:00, kickstarting the meeting with a vigorous message "Any question? Do you get it?" sometimes, I guess, also to wake themselves up.
New York - 11:00, not sleepy, not too energetic, getting the right energy and understanding flow. Puts the right question at the right timing in a right way.
France - 18:00, time to close the office (or maybe way past). Rather in a skeptical mode: "Do we need to do this?"
Tokyo - 25:00, dead. (also exhausted from installing a huge chunk of Java or whatever applet to show the online presentation. Took 15 minutes away from everybody else and when finished installation, I felt like the whole thing already finished) The brain refuses to work in an active mode, much less in productive mode. .....this is not so clear..... "OK, everybody got it? Let's move on!" ....ah, never mind....

I must say the training session helped me understanding the procedure and structure of online customer relationship. But probably not because of the session itself, it is more about the preparation done beforehand - reading the document, visiting Salesforce website, putting some comment on account history, such. The session had two meaning, both are not so related to understanding the solution. First the vendor justified their initial support fee by putting a training session (and mentioning every single function that needs to be mentioned for later record), and second our group has finally realized that database was not in the trial period any more - we had to adjust our behaviour from that moment. The training session delivered a message from the upper management - "We are serious".

I think the biggest reason a lot of companies are adopting the customer-relationship database is because it makes them easier (or makes them believe it is easier) to treat each employees as a single piece of the puzzle called business model. When it's not fitting into the big picture, take it off and put another in. "It is crucial for the business to collect information in a non-volatile manner" <- Separate the employee and the information so that the latter won't be lost when we have to get rid of the former "Put every activities to the database so everybody can work in a synchronized way" <- So the replacement can start working from the next day he is hired.

By adopting this scheme, the top level and the bottom level will leave the company, and the once-leading company will turn into mediocre, the marginal company might gain some momentum(as the vendor advertises). The top ones leave since they can't put up with a hint of beaurocratic manner, and the bottom ones leave since they are easily pulled out in front of everybody showing what they are actually doing behind the bragging comments (let's not focus on my own status). If the management team focuses on the latter effect, they will surely get what they want. But how many of them realizes the former effect, the possiblity of brain drainage? It will not only lead to losing the edge, it will decrease the morality and motivation. Once you realize the best one is leaving the group, suddenly you no longer believe in its power, in the leaders, and ultimately in yourself.

No matter the side effects are, the database management system will never make a good company into an excellent one. It is a tool for mediocre people who want to success by staying mediocre(never denying their lives), believing incremental and predictable step is the only way to survive. The guys who invented the system itself is magnificently smart, that's sure, and it seems all the hypes are focused on their smartness to foresee the future of the CRM business's success. But the more smarter the creator is, frequently the more stupid (or lazy) the user becomes. Isn't CRM the case?

In every business group or unit, there are one or two "key person" who are vital to what makes the group the way they are. They can be recognized by looking into the activity history, but, the problem is it is hard to recognize them from the con man who does no real work but just creating a non-existent important activites just by looking into the database. The key person, who are admired and sought after, are in a lot of cases humble enough to share his credit with others which means they usually have more credit than what appears on the database. Everybody working with him or her knows it, but the management label who becomes lazy not to interact with the lower level and starts to look into the electrical files thanks to the "system". The tool starts to make them trapped inside it.

Just like we can say "Just in time (Kanban)" = slavery, we can call "CRM" = imprisonment.

Taiwan Day2

写真を撮ったので。相変わらず仕事に何一つ関わり無く。

夕食にて。魚はいけすに入れられ、客が「これ欲しい」と指差したものを食べさせてくれる仕組みになっている。本当は裏で冷凍ものを出されるのかもしれないけど、趣向としては楽しい。

蛇だ！蛇に違いない！　「いや、うなぎだよ」
じゃいらない。

速攻で「これが欲しい」と名指ししました。

伊勢海老は体液を絞られ、蛇やすっぽんの生き血の要領で飲めるようになる。意外と気持ち悪くない。貝を焼いたときに出る汁と同じ味がします。

定番の焼そばを。あまりにも注文したものが外れだといけないので保険をかける必要はある（＋アメリカから来た同僚を黙らせる）。

ハマグリ。半生で、生牡蠣と同じ要領でずるずると食べる。うまい。ハマグリは半生で。

蛙もこのように料理されると普通に食べれる。多くの人が言うように、骨の多い鶏肉、といった感じだ。

伊勢海老はいろいろな使い道がある。酒に使われたあとは、頭はスープのだしにされる。

蛙と海老と半生のハマグリだけではアメリカの同僚がかわいそうなので注文した普通の魚。片面食べた後で写真を撮ることに気づいて、ひっくり返して撮った。

伊勢エビはマヨネーズまみれのサラダにされて出てきた。カロリーを気にするアメリカの同僚はかなりがっかりする。
台湾近海で採られたのかと思ったら（新竹は海の近くの街である）、たいがいはオーストラリアから生きたまま空輸されてくるのだそうだ。

コンビニのサークルKを発見、とよく見たらOK便利店、となっている。便利店、はコンビニの中国語名だけど（どうして日本ではこういうわかりやすい名前を採用しようとしないのだろう）、OKが違う。でもロゴの形を見れば確かにOK、のほうがしっくりくる。キャッチフレーズとしても良く出来ている。これからはサークルKじゃなくOK、と覚える。

噛みタバコの一種？を台湾の代理店の方に勧められて試してみた。何かの木の実が、緑の葉っぱに包まれている。これをほおばって、くちゃくちゃやって（食べない）汁を味わい、残りかすは捨てる。さとうきびを食べる要領だ。台湾では流行っているらしく、道端の露天で買える。なぜか下着姿のお姉さんが（写真はありません）売っている。風俗店なのか、と聞いたらただの売り子だという。本当か？（写真は撮っていません）。
試したところ、ニコチンを生でかじっているような、タバコ臭くて渋いにおいが口の中に広がる。おいしいとはとてもいえないがあまりおおっぴらに言えず「結構いけるね」と嘘をついてかみつづけたところ効き目はばっちりで、体が火照ってきたのだ。本当にニコチンの成分が入っているのだろうか、バイXグラの中華版だ。こんなのを皆くちゃくちゃやって車を運転するのだろうか。

日本ではなかなか食べる機会の無い果物を買いあさってみた。いずれもうんまい。はずだ。赤くて毒々しいやつはまだ中身が何なのかわからない。日本に持って帰れないのが悔しい。

Taiwan Day1

Supposed to blog in a relaxed mode but found out I have to do a fairly-heavy task tommorrow which I didn't prepare.
First I thought I should abandon the blogging entirely, but remembered while blogging I won't get asleep so easily. So I work for 15 minutes, start to get sleepy, blog for 5 minutes and wakes me up, another 15 minutes...

On the way to Taiwan. It's a typical Sunday, not any special holiday season but we have this huge airplane and it was indeed packed. People say a lot of things about the opportunity in Mainland China but I haven't seen a 747 flying to China as frequently as the one for Taiwan and Korea. This makes me realize that we do have established and huge business relationship with those two countries, and wonder why few people are talking about it anymore.

Cathay Pacific (no more business class..) has a reasonably tasty meal, but this time I found out the secret. The rice, fish, and vegetables are tasteless. The sauce on the top does the whole job. I can use this technique for my own cooking (if I ever start doing one) - how to cook in 10 minutes and eat healthy (or tasty).

Mobile Phone ad. In Chinese characters it is called "行動電話" - literally it means the phone that moves on its own, or the phone for people in action. In mainland China it is called "手机" - a palm-sized device, and in Japan it is "携帯" - portable device. Taiwan's convention is closest to "mobile", I like it, though a bit long.

Welcome sign on the TV. If my name was placed next to the "Dear Mr./Mrs. " part, that would have been great. This is nice but a bit funny - it is like I am watching a score board in a bowling array.

Very tasty fruit. When I lived in Taiwan 20+ years ago, of course fruit were abundant but everything was rather tasteless, or thin. These days every taste is getting thicker.

Didn't have time to dine in a Chinese restaurant, so I took this plate which is always the last (sometimes first) resort for my non-Asian colleagues. Felt like being a loser but nevertheless it tasted fine.

Yahoo or Google

Yahoo parted from Google and settled a brand new search engine.
Which should I choose for my default search tool? Both have a nearly identical interface.

Very simple. According to Yahoo, I am the world's 100+ th most famous Isao(I don't know the exact number, but that never matters: I know only one person who would go down more than 100 sites related to the keyword Isao).
The second highest ranked site says this: 20 year History of Isao $20 Hmm......
Look in the bright side. Po Bronson says The first $20 million is always the hardest. And I am now thirty which makes me worth $30. Better.

According to Google, I am the thirteenth most famous Isao in the world. One step closer to rule the world. There is no porno site on the road to discourage the viewer from searching more(in Google).
Long live Google.

時差とCRM

カリフォルニアとフランスとニューヨークと東京で同時に電話＆インターネット経由のセミナーをやった。Salesforceが提供する顧客対応のデータベースをとうとう導入してしまうのでそのトレーニング。
日本が深夜１：００、カリフォルニアが朝８：００、フランスが午後６：００くらいから開始。各地域のテンションがもろにセミナー内の発言に反映された。
カリフォルニア：朝一番　やる気満々　「何かコメントはないか？質問はないか？」
フランス：仕事おさめ　参加する気はあるけどやる気なし　「そもそもこんなのいらないよ」
ニューヨーク：昼前で波に乗っている　「これは何？　あれはどう使うの？」
日本：深夜　思考スピードが遅い　「・・・あ、これ聞きたい・・・　（司会者から）質問ないね。じゃ次のテーマに行こうか！」
（自分のアパートの中から参加したもんで気が散りまくり）
これでますます日本人は意見を言わない、と思われてしまうのだろうか。

Salesforceに限らず、皆が持っている技術知識、顧客情報、やりとりの記録を一括して管理しよう、というサービスを（経営者たちが）利用する最大の理由は人材を使い捨てにしやすくなるからだと思う。知識を持ち寄ることよりも、業務を効率よくすることよりも、従業員が持っているノウハウと人脈を吸い上げて、いつでもリストラできるようにするためだ。技術面での知識は過去のメールから検索すればたいがい見つかるし、わからなければ担当者に直接聞けばいい。特定のWebサイトにアクセスして、コンタクトやら問題やらの設定をいちいちいじるよりも、メーリングリストに言いたいことを書いて送ればそれでいい。いくら情報を蓄積していっても、1年くらいで大概の情報は古くなる。フランスの同僚に完全に同意はしなくても、「こんなの本当に必要か？」とは僕も思う。

営業の人間が書いたレポートをSales...のWebサイトで読むと、必ず客先の担当者情報が詳細に書かれて、登録されている。部署、役職、職務内容、電話、メールアドレス。担当者のこうした情報をレポートを書く前にまず登録しておかなければ、レポートを書く段階でエラーが出る仕組みになっている。"The devil is in the detail"　「神（悪魔）は細部に宿る」。　名前だけ書けば済むようにはなっていない。レポートを1年間正直に書きつづければ、どんなに顔の広い営業でも自分の持っている人脈情報を全て吐き出すことになる。誰を知っているか、だけで営業が成り立つものでもないだろうけど、レポートと担当者情報をざっと眺める限りでは、ありとあらゆる仕事はトランジスタやコンデンサのような部品を組み合わせれば成立してしまうような錯覚に落ちる。戦国時代のシミュレーションのように、大勢の人間の動きを上から俯瞰しているような感覚だ。サービス会社の意図はどうあれ、人材を本当の意味で歯車のように扱いやすくするシステムなのだろう。システムそのものに問題があるわけではなく（何かを効率よくする、ということそのものに善悪はないだろうし）、それを使う人間によるのだろうけど。以前感銘を受けたソフトブレーンも、彼らが人気を博す本当の理由はそういうことなのではないか、と勘繰った。眠いからか。

これから先久保選手のファンになります。もっとスピーチしてほしい。これまでフォワードといえば柳沢だった。彼ほど贅沢に、煮え切らない態度でもどかしさを味わえる人はいなかったので（いけそうでいけない、というやつですね。オランダのクライファートには負けるけど）それに敬意を表していた。

今天工作很不效力，所以要很长时间工作完了-八点半还是在公司里。有效力的时候工作很有意思，也很长时间在公司里。。。
看见在上海的顾客人员们。一个人（中国人）会说日语非常流利，跟日本人一样。我跟他发电子邮件的时候用英语，打电话的时候用日语。以为我跟两个人交谈。
有点儿被压倒了，我告诉他：
我： ”我会说汉语“
他： ” 真的吗？“
我： ”真的。 初次见面，请多关照。。。。“ 马上后悔了。
他：”你说的很好“ 太礼貌。

Being called by name

Today I received a piece of advertisement.

OK, this is one of the reasons they requested me to put my address into the subscription form for www.economist.com. But that should be a minor one. I want to believe there is a bigger conspiracy beyond my reach (but within my imagination). Microsoft tries to protect their source code because there is a hidden code somewhere that sends all your information to the Big Brother constantly through the net. Japanese government is already able to detect a person's identity regardless of where he or she is and be able to threaten us by hinting naughty boys and girls would not receive the pension money. That means you'll get punished no matter whatsoever.

And I cannot put that piece of paper into the trash can. It has my name on it. Unleashed. Name has a strong power. I had a chance to visit a showroom recently, and it had a board saying "Welcome" with my name scribbled. I did have an appointment but it made me relaxed enormously, in a second. Name is strong, it catches me off the guard, and yet it can be abused so easily.

I watched a movie called Crucible four or five years ago. I don't remember much about it but one line from the main character played by Daniel-Day Lewis. He shouts this just before he is sentenced that he can take his name away and live as nobody or being hanged by the sin he committed.

Because it is my name! Because I cannot have another in my life! Because I lie and sign myself to lies! Because I am not worth the dust on the feet of them that hang! How may I live without my name? I have given you my soul; leave me my name!

He is hanged. I didn't understand this a bit then, now I am getting to understand it bit by bit (but will never fight that hard).

By the way, what would my psuedo name be like?
Zhang Yifeng - 长一风 - a dust of wind : my Chinese name, which was given by one of the part-time teachers when I studied for about 10 days in Beijing. I like this. Sounds like a rootless lifestyle and it justifies my inability to engage and to commit... Too comic? We already have Jackie Chan who is 成龍, which literally means "to become a dragon" (well, my friend from Shanghai told me it's too clunky a name but..).

Panasonic Kato - I will use this when introducing myself to one of the prospect customers in China. I am sure to be remembered. Sony is too snobby(Aiwa Kato might be OK). You can use anything for your first name as long as it's a noun. I know there are Steel Chan (strong as a steel), Lemon Lee(fresh but watch out, I'm not that sweet...) and, and, Peter Pan (an everlasting boy, yes!). I didn't have the gut to look into the picture of the last guy.

木のいのち木のこころ ２／２

この本についての感想の後半を。感想にするべく努力します。

西岡氏の話を物語る口調には独特のものがあって、思慮に富んだ発言が無くてもついつい読んでしまう。何故か、と考えると答えは簡単で、彼の話はものすごくわかりやすいのだ。内容が単純なのではなく、深い洞察をわかりやすく語るのだ。大工道具や建物の構造など、さすがによくわからない単語は出てくることはあっても、主張の論点がわからなくなる事態はない。年寄り＋専門職＋無学（失礼）という三重苦？を背負っているのに何故こうまでわかりやすいのか。多分、自分のやっていることを体験から徹底的に知り尽くしているからだ。宮大工という職業を50年間続けることで、しかもそれに情熱を傾けることで、誰に教えられなくても彼は言葉を発見してきたのだと思う。自分で理解し尽くしているから、赤の他人も理解できる言葉だ。

彼の体の中には宮大工という芯がきれいに、力強く通っていて、そのおかげで何について語っても（教育やら環境やら、大工とはあまり関係無さそうなこと）、思慮深くて本質を突き、そして宮大工の世界にまたつながっていく。小学校の時にやった棒磁石の実験を思い出す。磁石の周りに砂鉄を巻いておくと、それが磁石の周りに渦を巻いて、棒磁石を中心にして円の流れができる。あるいは別の時間にビーカーの中で見た対流の実験にも似ている。流れは必ず元のところへ戻り、また外へ出て行く。彼の思想の世界も、そんな形を作っているような感じがした。磁石と違って、廻りまわっている思想は回る度に外の世界に触れて鍛えられ、大きく力強くなっていく。真中に通っている芯もまた、日々の仕事を通じて強くなる。

興味深いのは、彼が子育てと結婚についてどちらも半ば失敗していることを認めている点だ。父親として子供たちにあまり構ってやれなかったこと（おかげで彼の子供で後を継いだものはいない）、夫として妻に構ってやれなかったことを素直に認めている。また、弟子に対してもあまり寛容でなかった点も認めている。怒鳴り散らしていたようだ。彼自身は弟子を使えないからと首にしたことは一度も無いと書いているがそれは単に、やめさせる前に皆自発的にやめていったからだろうと勘繰ってしまった。家族についても同じ事で、彼が彼のやり方で宮大工としての人生を送れたのは、よく言えば周りの人間の協力があってこそ、悪く言えば周りの人間に直接、間接に頼った結果だ。

子供や妻の相手に時間を割いて、割の合わない宮大工をやめて民家を建てることでお金を稼いで、癇癪をおこさないようにしていれば彼の周りにいる人間は気が楽になっただろうけど、彼のもつ知恵が後世に伝わることは無かったかもしれない。彼の生きた時代には、家族が割を食うことは日常茶飯事だったはずだがそれは現代では許されない。家庭と家計は私にまかせて、あんたは仕事に打ち込んでくださいなと無言で承認してくれるようなお嫁さんと行儀良い子供、なんて組み合わせが今ありえるだろうか。家族は俺のやることに黙ってついてきている、と仕事おじさん達がのたまうのを聞いているとき、子供に金属バットで殴り殺されない、あるいは小学校低学年で引きこもらない、あるいは奥さんにいずれ離婚届を突きつけられない自信はありますか、と心の中でつぶやいてしまう。

現代の人たちが昔ほどの職人芸を生み出せなくなっているのは、選択肢（誘惑とも言われる）の他にやること、気にかけることが多すぎるからだ。職人芸を編み出すほどの努力は絶対どこかでバランスを崩している。しかしほぼどこへいってもバランスを取ることを求められる（もっと言えばなんでもできることを求められる）。この状況で西岡氏が体得してきたような知恵を得るためには、どんな工夫が有効なのだろうか、それが知りたい。

木のいのち木のこころ、は3巻に分かれていて、彼の弟子の視点と弟子の弟子の視点からとらえたバージョンもある。西岡氏の語る内容に感心するだけでなく（誰だって自分の中だけだったら、はたから見るよりバランスがとれた人生を送り、破綻の無い思想を持っているだろう）、周囲の人間の視点をあわせて読むことでどんな感想を得られるか、興味深くなったので注文した。2つ足してもAmazonでは配送料金が無料にならないので（１５００円以下）、前から気になっていたネットバブル時代のシリコンバレーについてのドキュメンタリーも買った。実に簡単だ。Amazonが1-clickを特許にしてしまい、他の業者が使えなくしてしまったのには意味があったのだ。これがもっと世の中に広まれば買い物による自己破産が今以上にブームになる、その恐ろしい事態を防ぐためだ。ありがとうAmazon。

写汉语文章的规则

这两个星期我不知道写什么文章,根据什么话题(用汉语的时候).
不正确的文法没办法(暂时). 什么话题可以?
政治:有点儿问题.有点儿微妙.
文化:关于日本的奇怪的东西和现象还可以.
日记:最简单但是没有那么趣.

我最喜欢把文化方面写,可是比较麻烦.
所以我写简单的文章,日记. 可以没有意思但是容易写,容易看.
我得到自信或有很长时间或发现了太有意思的事的时候,写复杂的文章. 可能.

Regarding written English, there are excellent mistakes (click the above) and dumb mistakes (the ones you see in this blog). If you need the former, you have to be clueless and innocent when composing English sentence, trying to put your message in a clear way(and believe you can do it) without a deep knowledge of grammer. Once you start to learn the technical aspects of written English, they every mistake is plain dumb.

Recently I showed my Mandarin entries to my teacher who is from Shanghai, being sure I would get a lot of praise. He told me he could get about 70% of what's written there. Once he switched his thinking in "Japanese" mode, they he received the messages correctly. Nevertheless he gave me a warm comment and encouraged me to move on, however I think I got stuck, because after almost three years of learning Mandarin I am getting better at it, at least being able to detect something is wrong in my Mandarin. His comment revealed what I have been afraid of : I have been thinking in Japanese and constructing the sentence in Japanese, only choosing the words from Mandarin language database.

In continuing my Mandarin input, I have three options: one is to continue in my present style, Japanese-thinking and Mandarin-letters and try to improve little by little. the second one is to write like a summar vacation diary from 10 year old (smart) kid.
Mon: Weather is fine. Went out with my friend.
Tue: Same as Monday.
Wed: Same as Tuesday.
The third one is to imitate the dullest blog in the world.

It is obvious I should take the first option. At this stage, there still are some excellent mistakes there and I can improve my Mandarin in the fastest way. Of course I can offer something that the reader (if there are any) can enjoy. But the second and third options are too attractive to dismiss.

電子辞書の群れ。外国語を使って会話をするためには、発音がある程度正しくないと話にならない。なんぼ文法上正確になっていても If I were you, I would master the pronouciation (was ではなくて wereだよ）、発音が悪いせいで日本人全般に対して外国語、特に英語の取得能力が欠如しているという評判に拍車がかかっている。ので教材に絶対欠かせないのは言葉の意味が出ると同時に正しい発音を教えてくれる機能だ。発音記号の表示ではなくて、音が出る機能だ。
店頭に飾ってある辞書の種類が３５、スピーカーらしきものがついていたのがそのうち６。ついていないのが残り。どうひいきめに見ても、逆であるべきだ。発音がわからないでどうやって言語を習得できるのだろう？日本語だって発音はある。柿と牡蠣、えらいですねえとえらいことしやがったな、お世話になりましたと大きなお世話だ、微妙に発音を使い分けているはずだ。違うか。違いますね。

そこで僕が愛用している好易通。中国語と英語の２ヶ国語で（Oxfordの由緒正しい辞書が入っている）発音も両方出て、上海では高くても日本円で２万円くらいで買える。日本で買えるルートがまだわからないけど、英語と中国語を両方学ぶならこれっす。無敵科学技術がトレードマークの台湾の会社が作っています。その名の通り頼もしいです。

追記：電子辞書なんて流行っている言語の数だけ種類があれば十分だろう、と思うけど３５種類とは。メーカーはよほど研究開発費を有効活用できないのだろうか。奇抜で面白い企画を却下され、「売れ筋」の電子辞書を設計する羽目になった開発スタッフの怨念がこもっていそうだ。

六本木ヒルズの森美術館にて。コードレス電話の親玉みたいなこの機械を展示品に向けると、音声で作品の解説をしてくれる。作者が何を考えていたか、作品の時代背景はどんなだったか、（これが肝心）この作品は何をいいたいのか。中学生じゃあるまいし、そんな解説は不要どころか本来は邪魔なはずなのだが、芸術作品を見てもあまりに何も感じないので、いったい自分と「芸術を感じる能力のある人々」との間に何が横たわっているのかと勉強のつもりで聞いた。すると眠くなったのでソファで寝た。Happinessをテーマにした展示会であり、作品を展示する方法とコンセプトそのものが一つの芸術作品として成立していたはずだが、だとするとこのような形で自分も備品のソファと一体化して芸術に寄与しているのだろうか、と満足しながら寝た。
機械は大きくて重たいのが帰って使い勝手を良くしていた。首からぶらぶら下げたり、服とこすれたり、強く握っても全然気にならないくらい頑丈なところがまた良い。大きくすれば中の電子回路も不必要に高価で繊細なものを使わなくてもいいし。

日本にはきれいで近代的な建物が本当にそこらじゅうにあるのに（五反田にだってデザインビルがある）どうして都心の一部以外は近代的で人工的なにおいをあまり感じないのだろう、と少し考えたことがあり、その答えがあった。建物そのものはきれいにつくっても、それを扱う側がデザインというものに慣れていないとあっという間にこのようなものが付着してくる。同様にオブジェのまわりには子供が登らないように柵が付けられ、ビルそのもののデザインは秀逸でもその上にどでかい広告が据え付けられる。余分なものはいらない、という余裕が生まれる日がいつかは来るのだろうか（雑誌ではさかんに紹介されるヨーロッパの「本物」が本当に根付くことがありうるだろうか）。世界第二位の金持ちになってもこれであり、この先の発展が見込めないのだから、このずれずれこそが日本のアイデンティティとして定着しつづけていつかは「高度に洗練された本物のミスマッチ」として愛される（少なくとも外国の人からは）ことになるのだろうな、と考えた。少なくともアニメや漫画の分野ではそうなっていると思う。

丸の内、東京駅の横にある日本的な喫茶店。黒服のサラリーマンがいっぱい詰まって、おいしくない（失礼）コーヒーを飲んで味気の無い（本当に失礼、でも本当）定食を食べて煙草を吸いながら「商談」をする。みんな同僚もしくは取引相手であり、会話の内容は１、プロジェクト（と彼らは言う）の進行状況　２、プロジェクトを左右する人物の細かい動向（含む愚痴）　３、リストラもしくは異動の噂　４、共通の趣味　のどれかの話をしている。話の内容が面白くてつい聞き耳を立てたことは、今まで一度も無い。みんな上の４つのパターンを延々と繰り返す。彼らにとっては日常だ。
それでいて誰一人として心から楽しそうに見えない。ただ、時々すごく安心した顔つきになっている人はいる。
彼らの様子を見て一つだけ確信したことがある。日々、強化されつつもある。自分は絶対、この集団の一員になりたくない、という決意だ。一人でそんな店に入って美味しくないコーヒーを飲みながら本を読み、時折まわりの観察をしているのも心から楽しいとは言えないが大の男同士で群れるよりはましだ。

25th hour

Watched this latest film from Director Spike Lee.
It is a belated offering, since the filming was completed in 2002. The crew, including the director and the actors, should have devoted themselves to it even before - toward the end of 2001. In the United States, the opening date was in late 2002. I wonder what it feels like to have the feedback of the work you had done a couple of years ago(and if you have to promote something you almost succeeded to erase from your memory...). When in a fast changing environment, two years ago is another world entirely. Friends, colleagues, work condition, sometimes the address of the apartment, all affects one's character and the way of thinking, plus adds new information and insight. We cannot look at the event in the same way.

That happens even in my life as a corporate employee. The name of the company printed in my name card changed four times in three years, due to job hopping, merger, corporate identiy refreshment (in this case, the top management simply combined the names of two different companies and made a one, lo------ng name. And they made a swift action after explaining how to spell the company name for 100 times, almost every day. The previous name was nominated as the worst corporate name in 2003, in Israel). In the movie business, I hear they work on the project basis - when one film wraps up, the gropu dissolves and go to the next project. The speed of change should be much higher. Nobody asks this question in the movie interview (it's always done in the present mode, no matter the movie is completed three years ago), but I would like to know.

The distribution company should not delay the opening of foreign (=Hollywood ;-) film no more than one year following the home country. Specially if it's a plot-driven movie. When they delayed the opening of "Signs" in Japan, I had to refrain myself from accessing movie reviews or bbs written in English. Or it's not good to delay the opening if it's a cult-type of movie either(if I am the film executive, that is the first film to be delayed, since I can count on the loyal fans who go watch it no matter what). I had to wait for more than two years before watching "South Park - bigger, longer, and uncut" and "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back".

My exception toward these two had overblown during the two years, and when I watched it, they had to be a masterpiece enough to affect me behaving like the main characters for at least a couple of months, or they enhance my theory of "every talented artists are essentially finished when they become 30 years old". And I become 31 years old this spring. South Park proved itself although I decided I am too good a person to behave like the main characters. For Jay...I guess Kevin Smith made that film to convince the studio executives that there is no more point in making another franchise based on the infamous duo.

Go back to 25th hour, it is based in New York, and the reference to the Sep.11 attck is obvious.
there is a scene in which Philip Seymour Hoffman and Barry Pepper gaze into the reminiscient of World Trade Centor. That has nothing to do with the story but nevertheless the crew who are based in New York couldn't have helped offering some tribute to the incident. And funny, it feels quite natural. The story was based in the present, so if they never brought up that tragedy in the film, I would detect that they are avoiding the topic. They could have deleted those scene intentionallly for the entertainment's sake. But production group didn't, perhaps not to add "reality" in the movie settings but to face the challenge they have encountered. When they show the skyscraper of Manhattan, I automatically looks for the twin towers. Even I cannot help bringing real life's subject into the film. What would the locals in New York feel about it, I have no way to imagine, and I will never have.

This was supposed to be a movie review, and I wrote nothing helpful yet. It is one thirty in midnight and I need to be in the office by 10:00 in the morning and I need to sleep eight hours and I need thirty minutes to commute. Good night.

I will cut the sleeping hour. It is a good and entertaining movie, though not a controversial-subject oriented film like Spike Lee's past works. The storyline, in which the lead character spends his last 24 hours before going into prison, seemed to suggest a soul-searching type of conclusion, but it doesn't. No big incident enough to change his viewpoint happen. The atmosphere is closer to that of Blade Runner or Things to do in Denver when you're dead. In Spike Lee's past films, Mo Better Blues would be the closest I have seen. The cool guy keeps his virtue no matter how hard he is beaten. Evey actors provide convincing acting and although the story moves slowly toward a predictable end it doesn't lose tension or get bored. I am not sure how Spike Lee's core fans react, but I think the fact that this film stands out without the aid of any political or cultural message shows he is a skillful director more than his critically acclaimed films do.

I liked this film but I don't think I will watch it again for another few years. When I first saw Do the Right Thing, while watching I felt everything was so crudely constructed I lowered my inner critic level (it's an indie film, not Hollywood blockbuster). But when I finished, I felt an urge that I need to watch it again - I thought it was an easy film to digest, but no - felt that there was something very important in this film, and I didn't realize it. It had a huge amount of energy in it, maybe not so well expressed(so that even a blunt guy like me can articulate it) but flowing everywhere.
I never intended to say bad things about Spike Lee but the comments are saying out loud - blame my sleepiness. Now it's 2:30 in midnight.

木のいのち木のこころ １／２

最後の宮大工として知られた西岡常一氏が語る体験や教訓をまとめたこの本を読んでみた。

中学生の時に、西岡氏の書いた文章を最初に読んだ。国語の教師で、勤務している学校はおろか町外にまで名が知られていた体育会系暴力教師に紹介されて読まされた（しかし彼のギャグは面白いので、授業は恐ろしいが人気はあった）。いやいや読んでます、とはとてもいえないのですごく真剣に読むふりをしているうちに、本気で面白い、と思って読んでいた。当時はまだわら半紙に刷ったプリント、などというものが幅をきかせていた。曰く：
法隆寺を再建するにあたって飛鳥時代の道具をまず再現しなければ満足のいく仕上げはできないとわかったが、原料となる現代の鉄はあまりに硬すぎて、結局法隆寺に使われている釘をもう一度溶かして作った。
再建に使う材木は皆同じ大きさに切り出して使うべし、と学者が主張するのに反論して、古代の寺に使われている材木がいかに不ぞろいな大きさをしているか、そしていかに使うべき場所と木の特性を考え抜かれてそのように大きさがそろっていないのか、を実物を見せたにも関わらず学者は聞く耳を持たない。
などなどの逸話が繰り出され、「へー」どころではなく目からうろこが落ちる思いで読んでいた。奈良時代に確立されていた知恵に、現代人は未だに追いつかないでいる、というスケールの大きさと西岡氏の仕事にかける純粋な熱意がかけあわさって、今に至るまで老人の主張に感動した唯一の事例となっている。

余談だが先に紹介した教師の悪行から逃れるため、僕は率先して授業で手を上げ、テストでよい点をとり、機嫌をそこねないような行動をとっていた。３年間行ったこの行動が少なからず自分の性格形成に屈折した彩りを与えている、はずだ。その教師は他の暴力教師と軍団を形成し、おかげで中学生活は退屈でなかった。自転車（ケッタ、と中部地方では呼ぶ。進化するとケッタマシン。）のハンドルを故意に上向きに曲げていた他校の生徒（恐らくハーレーダビットソンのバイクをまねたのだろうが、それがはやっていた）はその場でマニュアル矯正された（手で曲げられた）。名古屋の繁華街でとある休日、軍団に発見されたカップルは「補導」され、左右を軍団にはさまれて電車で帰る羽目になった。終始無言だったそうだ（授業で聞かされた）。学生服のボタンを外して手洗い場にもたれてくつろいでいた生徒は予告抜きで蹴りを入れられ、跳ね飛ばされた（彼が煙草を吸っていれば絵が完成しただろうが、少なくない血が流れていたであろう）。今この瞬間も、どこかで誰かが彼らのことをネタにして飲んでいるはずだ。
その暴力マントヒヒの愛車はパジェロだったが、卒業生に金属バットでぼこぼこにされたと聞く。駐車場をあえて学校から遠ざけていたらしいが、役に立たなかったようだ。
彼は星進一と筒井康隆を愛読し、僕も愛読者になってその後長い間、特に筒井康隆の本を読みつづけた。

話がどんどん脇にそれていって恐縮だが、件の中学校ではやっぱり校則が非常に厳しく、先生は「あるべき学生の姿」というプリントを作成してそれを生徒に配り、理想の身だしなみを奨励していた。男女の中学生が並んで立っている絵が描かれ、体の各部分についてこうしなさい、と矢印をつけて解説が入る。ちょうどウルトラマンに出てくる怪獣の体の中を見る絵本の校則バージョンのようなもので、髪の毛は耳にかけてはいけない、だの運動靴は白でなくてはいけない、だの書いてある。そこまでなら当時どこにでもあった風景だ。
問題はその男女の目つきだった。僕が在学していたころは彼らは真剣な目をしていた。きりりと前を向いて、よく言えば真面目、悪く言えば絶望した雰囲気をかもし出し、その点だけでいえば、その絵は不自然ではなかった。絵そのものの人間はいないだろうが、やりたくもないことやかっこ悪いことでも淡々とこなさねばならない人間がいることを、自分達の親や教師の姿から理解はできていた。で、僕が卒業してからある機会に見たその改良版では、男女の目つきに修正が加えられていた。彼らは微笑んでいた。学生服姿のいがぐり頭とおかっぱが、にっこりと、希望を胸に、はつらつと。
その絵を見て映画「ゾンビ」を見たときと同じ寒気を感じたことを覚えている。

結局ゾンビで話が締めくくられてしまったので（最近、リメイクされたバージョンの予告編を繰り返し見ているせいだ）、次回改めて本を読んでみた感想を書きます。

Coaching Shower 2nd year anniversary

2周年記念の式典に参加しました。

Thomas Leonard氏（著名なコーチであったらしい）の思想と言葉をかいつまんで学びながら、パートナーを組んでお互いの内面を掘り下げてみる練習も行い、いつもながら自分ひとりだけでは考えていてもらちがあかないことをはっきりさせるのに、丁度良い機会だ。練習のテーマは自分の欠点を長所に置き換えてみる（置き換えてもらう）というもので、こうやって書いてみるとうさんくささの臭気に耐えられなくなりそうだが実際は視点を変えてみる、という訓練だ。欠点を欠点としてとらえてばかりいると何も進まないから、それを力を失う（元気を無くす）のではなく、出させる方向に向けてみてはどうか、というものだと理解した。

コーチングを学ぶ人が皆自信を無くしている、というわけでは全然無いのだが（どちらかというと前向きで開放的な人の方が多い。コーチングを勉強して一番驚いたことかもしれない）、今まで見てきた中で共通していることは皆人間関係のことを真剣に捉えている、という点だ。自分の周りだけでも、仕事関係でも、はてまたは日本を覆う殺伐とした雰囲気についても。だからこういう設問が出てくると皆（自分も含め）けっこう深い悩みが自然に表に出てくる。この様子をビデオカメラで写して見ると、話の内容（シリアス）とはたから見た雰囲気（和やか）のミスマッチが結構浮き出るのではないか？こういう場だからこそ、気軽に考えていることを話せる、というのがものすごく貴重なことなのだな、といつも感じる。

僕はセッションのテーマではなく、自分の内面を素直に出せて、しかも傷のなめあいに発展しない「場」があることに引き寄せられて勉強をしている。こういう場が現在はあまりにも見えなくなっているからこそ（どこかにたくさんあったり、意外に簡単に作れたりするのかもしれないけど、みんなそんな余裕は無い、ということだと思う）コーチングに限らずいろいろなコミュニケーションの上達方法を学ぶ人が増えるようだ。

悩みを打ち明けたり、失敗した話をしたりすると、多くの場合すぐに現実的な処方箋（アドバイス）となって、反応が返ってくる。それはこうすればいい、こう考えるのがよくない、少し休んだら、といったものだ。友達や仕事仲間とそういう話をしていると、そういったアドバイスは気休めになるけど根本的な解決にはいたらない。皆それをわかっていて、なんで毎回同じように話をするのかというと、結局話を聞いてもらえる人がいるという安心感、自分とその周りの世界を肯定できる感覚を味わえるが最も助かるからだ。でも結構高い確率で、昔ながらの知り合いからは現実を打破できるようなアイデアを得られない。同じような世界観を持っている人間とつるみやすいから、物の見方も同じようなものになる。そもそもそんな新鮮なアイデアを安心できる顔なじみから得よう、という考えが相手に失礼なのだけど。

しかし、知り合いの世界から離れてみて、自分の考えを共有できる世界がどれほどあるのだろうか、と考えてみると心もとない。一部の年寄りが言うように地域社会を復活させればいい、というものでもないだろうし。昔の近所づきあいでは問題を皆で話しあっているときよりも、相互監視を行っている時に最も生き生きとしていた記憶がある。期待されている行動をとってさえいれば非常に居心地が良いので、あまり出たくならない、という意味で旧東ドイツのKGBなんか目じゃないくらいの高度に洗練された組織だった。それを復活させるのは確かにしんどいだろうなあ。なので人工的にそんな場を作ろうか、と最近いろいろな場が出来つつある。でも、本当はこんな場をあえて作らなくても良いのが一番なのだ（文字通りに言えば、コーチという職業が無くなってしまうのが理想）、と田子さんがおっしゃっていたことに強く共感していた。

一つ再認識したこと。話題がビジネス・コーチング（部下や上司をどう管理しようか、という話題から、職場での対話を活性化する方法など、お仕事でコーチングを生かすこと全般）になるとものすごく場が盛り上がるのだ。どうしてすぐにお仕事の世界に結び付けたがるのか、仕事という世界を離れて問題（と認識しているもの）を捉えてみればもっと可能性とか視野が広がるだろうし、何よりも楽しいだろうに、と思いつつも、みんなよほど仕事の面で考えることが多いのだな、といつも興味が尽きない。僕はビジネス・コーチングが嫌いだけど（従来のサラリーマン管理作法を現代風にアレンジしただけ、とどうしても決め付けてしまう）、そういうものが必要とされていることは理解できる。しかしいつも少し違和感を感じるのは、ビジネスコーチングについて力説している人に、仕事をもっと楽しくしたい、と明言する人が少ないからだ。仕事が好きだ、でも、やめられないねー、でもなんでもいいけど、自分の欲求に従って、それをもっと良くしたいからこう思う、と誰かがいうときには、たとえその内容がわからなくても好感を持ってしまうし、引き寄せられて、いったいそんなに良くしたいものとは何だろう、と興味もわく。何かが広がりそうな予感がするからだ。

でもどちらかというと、上記の話は「義務」とか「やらないと生き残れない」とか「これからの社会では必須」という文脈で語られることが多い（ように思う）ので、それが窮屈に感じてしまうからビジネスコーチングという話題も、セミナーも敬遠してしまうのだろう。仕事の場でコーチングを生かそうと努力している人を見ると、みな真剣で、向上心も旺盛でしかも良い人々なのだけど「大変そうだなあ」という感想が先に来てしまう。僕もやってみたい、と感じたことがない。いったどれほどコミュニケーションが不足したら、こんなにコミュニケーションについて取り組む状況が生まれるのだろう？ビジネスコーチングよりも、多くの人々がそれについて真剣に考えている、その現象の方が興味深い。

うわあネガティブだ。だったら来なくていいよ、と言われないようにこれからもぼちぼち勉強を続けます。

Michael Alfant Seminar

So the latest EA-Tokyo seminar had arrived, refreshed in the new year.

Michael Alfant is a straightforward person. He speaks fast, always cut to the core of the topic, but does not stick to it. The moment we the listeners grasp the idea of what he is telling, he switches to the next subject, never repeating or going back to the old agendas. I wanted to take notes of what he said, but it was so hard because he spoke too fast, switched the topic too quickly, and each topic too stimulating not to focus onto. I couldn't find any good timing to summarize what he said and to jot down to the note. It was like trying to go to the bathroom while watching a very good movie in the theater, almost standing but cannot take the eye off the screen, starting to think that I might be able to wait until the end credit.

No presentation material, no table, no microphone, no fabulous wardrobe, no arm crossing. He was there, standing before the audience with an awaiting smile and open hands, telling there were not so many stories to offer from him and he was eager to receive questions either. But everybody knew those were not the sign of laziness or disguising inability, even before he started. With every word he said, I could hear the message "I know what I am saying" coming together, unspoken but undeniable.

He has the same aura that the past speakers all had. I couldn't help listening to his story. What is creating this air around those entrepreneurs? Indeed they have confidence, but a person with confidence but no knowledge are called George W.Bush. Or Sylvester Stallone. So there is also intelligence. But a person with confidence and intelligence but no success is called MBA holder. So there is inevitably a successful record. But a person with confidence, intelligence, success record but no compassion is called TV evangelist. So compassion must be added. But a person with confidence, intelligence, success record, compassion but no lessons learned from failure is called genious. I have never met a genious. So a person with confidence, intelligence, success record, compassion, and war stories is called a serial entrepreneur.
A person with no confidence, no intelligence, no success record, no compassion, no stories is called salary-men.

A few days have passed and I don't remember much of what he said, but now, that doesn't matter.
There was indeed an easy phrase like four most important issue an entrepreneur has to take care of: (in prioritized order ) capable management group, cash flow, quality of products, and ... never mind, the point is, the quality of the goods (or IP) is not the most important thing. Leave the decision to the engineers and they will continue refining and updating the product endlessly. I heard a story from an aquaintance before. A bunch of talented software programmers got frustrated by the marketing team, built their dream company thanks to the dot-com fever, worked hard to provide the best solution in the world. Three years later, they still haven't decided any release date.

When an entrepreneur with a long record like him shares the lesson he learned, there is always one or two down to earth advise. It sounds odd - they're talking about a big picture, talking about something more important than receiving a stable income every month. But among the spiritual guidance as "there is no failure, only challenges" " migrate your work into your life" such and such, suddenly comes a too practical advice. Keep an eye on the day to day money. Make sure you did all the payment. I had done 79 payments at my previous company, that's how I remember how long I run it. The grandiose ambition of entreprenour, the guy standing in the shiny building with a victory smile, cuban cigar, Armani jacket (I watched Wall Street four times) is replaced by an image of a tired small guy who knows nothing but doing one thing he wants to believe he is good at, chased by responsibility and dead end, knowing nothing about the better world surrounging him. At least in my naive image, for a short moment.

But carefully listening to their messages, the seemingly unrelated and unbalanced stories starts to light up a strong path they have gone through. A history with so many exceptions but nevertheless leading to a bright future in a convinced way. Then I realize it's exactly those too down-to-earth stories that make an entrepreneur a real entrepreneur. Someone who actually did that, not being a consultant or observer or judge. After I started to listen to Michael Alfant's stories and answers (he loves being asked) as enjoying the flow rather than trying to pick up the possible keys to solve my own problems, I felt relaxed and also, felt the need to find out MY path, not his. It is nice to listen to a successful person but that has a side effect. I learn no matter what you do, there are certain rules and disciplines you need to take care of, and at the same time there is no such golden rules for success. It sounds contradicted but it feels quite natural.

For the first time, I felt I had enough. I don't mean I got bored or tired or not excited. Quite the opposite, but instead of listening to the stories, why not starting right away to make my own? It might not be building a company, but it is something that I haven't done yet. I do always feel unspoken words or unleased desire internally. What am I doing here? I don't have to memorize all the small advice from the pioneers, because again and again they showed there is no fixed road or rules you can follow without thinking. Why don't you make your own story, and share it? - And that's exactly what EA-Tokyo is trying to do. Create a community to encourage people stand up. The networking session follows the seminar. Inspired? Intrigued? Here you can start it. Talk your dream. Find the partners.
I slightly felt I was trapped, the trap I am happy to be in, I am happy to understand the mechanism and the idea behind this seminar. It's the way the trick is used, not the trick itself.

最終回となった講座へ出席、といっても講師の藤井さんor森さんを中心に５名ほどのこじんまりとした、ささやかながらも雰囲気はダイレクトに伝わるよい機会だ。同じノウハウを共有するのでも、何十人と人が集まったスペースで話を聞くのと、小さな部屋でこちらのリアクションをダイレクトに返しながら（コメントも入れるし、あいづちをうったり困った顔をするとそれが講師にリアルタイムでフィードバック（すぐに反応してくれる）　）やるのとでは気持ちの高揚のしかたが違う。「こうだろうか？」と考えていることを口にして気軽に、すぐに聞ける。同意であれ反対であれ、返事が来ることで理解が自分の中で根付いていくのがわかる。温かい飲み物が食道を通過していくときのような感じをもっと進めて、胃ではなく食道からじかに体がそれを吸収しているような感覚だ。まずいことをしてしまった、と自覚したときは肺の中に冷たい水が染み込んでいくような感じに変わるけど。

その場で、すぐに聞けてすぐに答えが出て、あわよくばもっと広がりのあるコメントや解説をもらえることと、一通り説明が終わって集中力が霧のようにかすんでいる状態でQ&Aをやるのとでは、やっぱり差がある。後者の時はそもそもの疑問が何だったかを忘れる場合もあるし、ちょっと前疑問だったことをもう一度記憶によみがえらせて質問するのは、結構骨が折れる。なんかあったような気がするけど思い出せない、がいつものパターンだ。
今の世の中、何が最も貴重って言えば時間に決まっている。気になったその場ですぐに解決、あとはすっきりして他のことをやろう、が出来ればいいなあと僕も思う。それが実際には檻の中で走りつづけるハムスターのように、休息という概念を排除しているだけのこと、の場合が多いけどそれでも、気分が違ってくる。その場で片付けてしまわないと、他のことをやり初めても集中力が出ないまま、だらだらと時間が過ぎてしまい、結局そのまま帰って寝る、になってしまう。だから知りたいことをすぐに教えてくれる、反応してくれる、がどれほど貴重な機会なのか、これからも何度も思い知らされるのだろう。

もうひとつ、その副産物として、やりとりを何回か続ければ自然と理解の仕方が正確に、深くなっていく。周りで聞いていてもそうなのだから本人は言うまでも無く。日頃メールとインターネットが主な仕事の媒体になってしまっているので、昔は気づかなかった直接やりとりをすることのよさに、かえって敏感になっているようだ。こうやっていろいろ気づいていくことで、ITと昔ながらの方法のいいとこどりをしてバランスをとれるだろうか、とふと思ったが「バランスの無さ」あるいは「バランスを取る能力の（相対的な）欠如」が自分を自分たらしめているのだから、なんかしばらくは無理っぽい。
どちらかといえば、バランスを保とう、とするよりも、バランスが崩れていることを早めに知って、その都度少し修正しよう、のほうがなんかできそうだ。崩れるときは崩れるのだから。と理屈をつけて自分を納得させたので、今日も帰り道に森永のラムネをコンビニで回収。ここ１０日間で２０本食べている。一度に２本買わずに、１本で我慢したところが修正。

これまで４回出てみて、週末起業とは何ぞや、メールマガジンを発行するには、ホームページを作るには、顧客を絞るには、などなどいろいろな話を聞いてきたが、ほとんどは単に「教えてもらう」立場で聞いていた（その態度がそもそも間違っている、との指摘は今自分でしました）。最終回の今回は少し違う。まとめの章だからか、準備ではなく商売を行う際のテクニックに踏み込んでいるからか、起業する人間がどんな心構えで仕事をするか、について重要なヒントを得た。といっても、要するに客の立場になる、というただそれだけなのだけど。
たとえ２４時間働いても、意志が鋼鉄のように固くても、誰よりも専門知識を持っていても（自分は一つもない）、相手の欲しいもの（相手が自覚していようが、自覚していまいが）を提供できなければさようなら、というこんな単純なことを、まだ体で理解していないから未だにこういう機会ではっと気がつくのだ。
そういう観点に立って、ひとつだけ相手に伝えるメッセージの例をあげれば（それくらいならいいかな？）、

让我的朋友(老师)看我写的简历, 她解释了很清楚
"不明白你想做怎么工作, 工作经历的解说不够(我想看更多的), 最重要的能力介绍不在最简单得看的地方, 没有吸引力..."
他不是批评我的简历-只可惜... 我常常说明跳槽的决定怎么重要的 - 可是,她的意见让我发现了自觉一件事: 我还不想负责我的决定.
她说的东西都很对-我的文章很清楚得表现我的矛盾心理. 我想就要行动, 可是讨厌麻烦的东西. 麻烦的决定.
所以我依靠了我周围的人们 - 我说了我想在中国工作, 让别人听我说的事, 对我加压力. 让我的老师看我的不够的简历- 他们可能修好文法, 可是一定不能决定我的将来.
我再一次修改.

Eating and eating

今日は日記と宣伝。そういうのが嫌な人はまあいっぺん読んでみましょうや。いっぺんで終わっていいから。

吉祥寺のBondi Booksにて古本売却＆購入。
洋書の中古買取、販売を行っている店で狭いながら本はびっしり。開店して５ヶ月だそうだが、店長によるとアメリカとオーストラリアから本の買い付けを行ったそうだ。
本に圧迫されて苦しくなりたい、ああ押しつぶされたい、という強迫観念を完璧に満たしてくれた（上のリンクから店内の写真が見える）。ずらりと並んだ本の列を眺めて改めて、ペーパーバックはぼろぼろにしてこそ愛着がわいてくると再確認した。表紙が縦に割れ割れ割れちゃったもの、湿気にやられて幅が１．５倍くらいに太っているもの、Sidney SheldanだろうがJon Arvingだろうが皆同じく並ぶごった煮感覚、どれも年月を耐え抜いたペーパーバックでしか味わえない。今回売却（ほとんど寄付）した本の面々が誰かに買われ、さらに茶色くなって戻ってきたところでもう一度買って読み直す、というのが理想だ。

その後手近なイタリアレストランで休憩を。こじんまりとして、落ち着いて、オーナーの愛情が手作りの内装に反映されて、値段もそこそこなよい店だ。こんな感じの店が吉祥寺にはごろごろしている。いいところだ。



デザートのプリンが絶品だったのだが、「（これ以上）写真撮影ご遠慮ください」と言われて撮らなかった。たった２００円でランチに追加できるから、是非試しましょう。
